Launch a web browser and go to this URL: www.virtualbox.org This is a website maintained by Oracle where you can download the software to create a virtual machine on your mac to run the windows software. This software is similar to the commercial products Boot Camp, Parallels or VMware Fusion, the difference being is Oracle VM VirtualBox is free for personal use under GPL version 2 license.

Select “Downloads” from the left hand menu. You want to download two items:
1. VirtualBox 4.3.8 for OS X hosts x86/amd64 VirtualBox-4.3.8-92456 OSX.dmg
2. VirtualBox 4.3.8 Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack All supported platforms Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-4.3.8-92456
Once downloaded you will want to install the OS X host. Directions and questions concerning it’s initial setup can be found here:

After installing the host application, and the windows operating system, install the extension pack.

Now, hopeful everything went smoothly and you at the point that you have launched VirtualBox and you have something that looks like the image below.
