The trap enclosure is built with the gate opening 12 feet from the feeder.
This will leave approximately 20 feet of spin cast area without throwing
bait
outside the enclosure. Below are examples using a sack and a board
as
feeder modifications to prevent bait broadcast in front of the gate
opening.
This step keeps bait at least 10 feet away from the entrance,
teaching hogs
to trust the entire enclosure and ensures they are too
far away from the gate
to escape when the gate is triggered. It also
produces a distinct sound which
hogs will learn to associate with daily
feeding.
